Shift work brings unique challenges: irregular hours, physical strain, and a higher risk of stress or fatigue. During this Health & Safety Day, we put the health and wellbeing of shift workers centre stage. The programme is designed to provide practical tools and insights that help you feel fitter and more energised and cope better with the demands of everyday life.

What can you expect?

08:30 – 10:30 | Group Fitness Assessment
An interactive group fitness test covering endurance, strength and flexibility. Results are shared (discreetly) together with tips to improve your fitness.

10:45 – 12:00 | Movement Session “Care for Your Back”
A healthy back is essential in your job. In this session you learn exercises and techniques to prevent back issues and strengthen your body—practical and directly applicable on the work floor.

12:00 – 12:30 | Healthy Lunch
A nutritious lunch with fresh, healthy ingredients. Designed to energise without weighing you down—perfect for the alternating rhythms of shift work.

12:30 – 14:00 | Workshop “Stress Management & Relaxation Techniques”
During this session, you learn to recognise stress and manage it effectively. Discover simple relaxation techniques to find calm—even on busy workdays.

14:00 – 15:30 | Cooking Workshop “Healthy Snacks”
During this session with a nutrition specialist, you’ll learn to prepare quick, healthy snacks—nutritious, energising bites to get you through your shifts. We will focus on nutritious and energizing snacks that help you through your shifts. Tasting included!

15:45 – 17:00 | Workshop “Sleep & Shift Work”
Shift work can seriously disrupt sleep patterns, but with the right knowledge and tips you can significantly improve sleep quality. During this workshop, you’ll discover the science of sleep and how to optimise your habits even with irregular schedules. We discuss the impact of nutrition and movement on rest, and how stress and rumination affect sleep—plus what to do to reduce them.
